This business unit includes Braun, PUR, Honeywell, Vicks, Hot Tools, Drybar, Curlsmith, and Revlon brands, and this role may support one or more of these brands.

Position: Brand Assistant – Beauty Appliances 

Department: Marketing – Beauty & Wellness 

Work Location: Mexico City, MX, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite) 

  

Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations.  

What you will be doing:  

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day execution and communication of physical and digital brand marketing strategies for the Beauty brands.  
  • Monthly calendars of social media 
  • Follow-up to the monthly SM reports and review digital investments 
  • Influencers and media plans to support the launching of new products in LATAM.  
  • Follow-up to the monthly PR reports and review investments 
  • Develop annual marketing plans in conjunction with sales team input to support initiatives in the must win clients. 
  • Takes a proactive role in the development and implementation of marketing plans 
  • Annual calendar of activities that align with brand strategies for all brands and countries 
  • Maintains a timeline for all marketing activities and keeps the brand team on deadline 
  • Manages product and marketing campaign asset development and approvals trafficking 
  • Develops and optimizes sales collateral/tools that effectively communicate marketing plans. 
  • Leads the process of the development of hair tools from setting up Model numbers, RFQs, AW development and approvals and follow up with cross functional teams to assure the timely delivery of the products. 
  • Sets up and maintains all product and promotions in internal databases. 
  • Search, quote and evaluate suppliers for the different projects (Trade Shows, Giveaways, POP Material, OOH media, etc.) 
  • Assisting / administration of purchase order requests for marketing spends 
  • Brief Creative agencies to develop marketing materials, digital assets and merchandising and media plans.  
  • Approver of labels, seasonal giftsets, special packaging AW directly with Operations 
  • Training and product education for key stakeholders 
  • Gathers and presents internal and market research data to support marketing plan development. 
  • Collaborates with internal team to brainstorm all elements of the marketing plan 
  • Monitors competitive activity and industry trends and offers insights to support business objectives. 
  • Analysis of the Mexican market and competition for sales (twice a year) 
  • Dominance of OBI and competitive analysis (reporting of net sales) 
  • Analysis of the trends in the market 
  • Participate in the NPD process from concept inception through market introduction and local initiatives to drain inventories.  
  • New Item Set up and follow-up of the creation of new codes in oracle system for LATAM. 
  • Monitoring and coordination for the development of new products in LATAM 
  • Contact with sourcing team in China for the process of development of the new products, approval of the samples and costs. 
  • End-to-end management of the artwork development process for LATAM, leading the adaptation of global packaging and digital assets from the USA, Canada, and Europe. This involves ensuring strict compliance with regional labeling regulations, technical specifications, and local legal requirements, as well as coordinating catalog logistics and asset distribution for the regional market. 
  • Providing materials on time for LATAM to ensure the placement of the new SKU pricing, updated sell sheets, marketing descriptions, delivery of samples, banners, instore materials and artworks). 
  • Translations of sales materials and assets 

  

Skills needed to be successful in this role:  

  • Strong ability to handle stressful situations 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Oracle and project management programs 
  • Willing to travel occasionally 
  • Deep knowledge of website development, digital marketing tactics/tools and online metrics for success 
  • Passionate about social media – know how of influencer recruitment a plus 
  • Self-starter that is creative, problem solver, proactive and driven by metrics 
  • Excellent follow-thru, detail oriented and hands-on approach to proactively managing and directing multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Proven record of achieving goals 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly present ideas and information 
  • Forward-thinking individual who seeks new digital approaches to lead our categories 
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing concepts and consumer behavior 
  • Upbeat, personable, positive, flexible, can-do attitude 
  • Curious and passionate about the category   

  

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business 
  • 1+ year of proven marketing experience 
  • 1+ year of proven experience in the position and proven record of achieving results. 
  • High level of proven English (spoken and written).  

  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Exposure in Latam markets/Multinational companies  
  • Have managed at least 1 direct report (trainee / intern)
