We’re seeking a Quality Manager who will be responsible for owning and evolving our global quality assurance and compliance function. In this role, you’ll ensure all products from formulas to finished goods meet the highest standards across the U.S., EU, UK, and beyond.
Position: Quality Manager
Work Location: Los Angeles (100% Remote) – Candidate must be based in LA.
What you will be doing:
You’ll work cross-functionally with Product Development, Operations, Regulatory, and external partners to implement best-in-class processes, resolve quality issues, and support product innovation. This role is key to maintaining the trust of our customers and retail partners.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversee the Quality of all components and finished goods
Manage 3rd party inspections
Oversee and manage MoCRA registrations
Manage creation of Spec Doc and updates
Manage and oversee Regulatory Compliance for existing and new products - working with our regulatory agency partner
Review COAs for all formula productions
Revamp Quality processes and implement best practices with EU/UK Registration
Create and maintain product specification documents for all finished goods and kits
Responsible for the custody, accessibility, and accuracy of quality documents
Maintain component specification documents and ensure records are updated and accurate at all times
Work with overseas quality consultants to review and approve quality reports for international production
Perform root cause analysis to resolve issues or customer inquiries
Audit production processes immediately after an issue is detected and execute corrective action requests
Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure all shipments are compliant with specifications and meet retailer requirements
Receive & review retains of all productions for approval prior to shipping
Manage approvals or rejections of incoming components and finished goods
Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure all shipments are compliant with specifications and meet retailer requirements
Work closely with the Product Development team to ensure products received are to standard
Be highly responsive to requests from internal departments
Works closely with the Product Development team to ensure products received are to standard
Provide ongoing support to all levels of team members, not limited to Operations, Product Development, PR, and/or Marketing, to facilitate required projects
Establish new and manage existing quality control processes and tasks
Execute non-compliance reports (NCR)
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Strategic thinker with strong operational judgment and problem-solving skills.
Strong consultative, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated experience navigating complex employee relations issues.
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and build trust quickly.
Proficiency in HR technologies and systems, including payroll and compliance tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
5+ years’ experience in quality assurance or regulatory compliance, ideally in beauty, cosmetics, or CPG
Strong knowledge of MoCRA and EU/UK regulatory requirements
Experience working with third-party labs, manufacturers, and overseas suppliers
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at managing documentation and specs
Proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cosmetic product formulation or development
GMP knowledge and familiarity with ISO standards
Previous experience in managing audits or supplier quality programs
In California, the standard base pay range for this role is $106,372.98 - $132,966.23. This base pay range is specific to California and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
