JOB SUMMARY
Contribute to the set-up as well as implementation of Osprey quality standards internally and at vendors and suppliers during commercialization and first launch of each new style.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Commercialization Technician is responsible for facilitating the transition of product designs into successful commercial production by coordinating and monitoring the quality aspects of the product and process. This role will require close collaboration with various teams, both internally and externally, to ensure the products meet quality standards and are ready for mass production. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP): Assist in the implementation and maintenance of APQP processes to ensure the effective planning and execution of quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Product and Process Validation:
- Proto Sample Development: Contribute comments and insights during the development of proto samples, collaborating with Designers, Sample Room, and Developers during the DDPR3 meeting.
- Buy Ready Sample (BRS): Monitor and inspect the BRS-making process in coordination with Developers and Vendors, ensuring that it aligns with established quality standards.
- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA): Assist in setting up processes to proactively identify and address potential quality issues.
- Pilot Samples: Request and inspect these samples before the Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) held at factories, providing feedback in a timely manner before bulk production.
Production: First launch
Ensure that the first launch of new styles matches the approved BRS and complies with general quality standards.
- Material inspection: review raw materials before bulk production.
- TOP Products Examination: Verify their compliance with quality standards.
- Inline inspection: Work closely with all relevant departments to meet Osprey quality requirements.
- Final Inspection: AQL standards and provide detailed reports.
- Quality Issue Resolution: Identify the root causes of quality issues as they arise and work on implementing necessary changes and improvements.
- Change Request Handling: Release change requests when necessary.
- Production Package: Build and transfer production documents, approved samples to the QC team after the first production launch.
Others:
- Quality Coordination: Coordinate with the QC team to guarantee the quality of mass production and address any quality concerns.
- Vendor and Supplier Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers that promote mutual benefit and uphold quality standards.
- Business Travel: as required to support production activities.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Production team, Development team, Sample Room, Consumption Team, Designer team.
- Factory: Sale team, Production team, Sample Room.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University/College degree (Garment Technique will be a plus).
- At least 3 years in Backpack manufacturing in quality control / Merchandiser.
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
- Project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Computer usage skills.
